WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF CORONA VIRUS?
High fever begins in those who catch the virus first. Then, dry cough complaints are observed. At the end of a week, shortness of breath problems appear.
Some patients in China had to be treated in the hospital for a long time.
However, the information currently available is limited only to the experiences of serious patients hospitalized. There is no detailed information yet on whether the virus was caught and survived.
The coronavirus can cause symptoms that can lead to death from moderate colds.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared an “international public health emergency”.
WHAT ARE THE CORONA VIRUS FEATURES?
After testing samples from patients in laboratories, Chinese officials and WHO concluded that the infection was Coronavirus (Corona Virus).
The disease is estimated to be caused by the Huanan seafood market in Wuhan, China’s 11 million-population city.
Coronavirus is a subspecies of a large family of viruses. But only seven, including the new virus, can infect humans.
According to WHO, the “incubation period” of the new virus, that is, the period from the time the infection is infected until the symptoms appear, is about 14 days.
But some researchers say that this period can be up to 24 days.
Chinese scientists warn that some people spread the infection even without symptoms.
HOW TO PROTECT THE CORONA VIRUS?
WHO makes the following recommendations for virus protection:
Wash your hands – soap or hand cleaning gels can kill the virus
Cover your mouth and nose with a handkerchief while coughing or sneezing, and then wash your hands to prevent the virus from spreading
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth – if your hands touch a place where the virus touches, the virus can infect your body
Stay away from people who are coughing, sneezing, or have a high fever – 1 meter away will protect you from contaminated virus
HOW MUCH DEADLY THE CORONA VIRUS?
According to the research data WHO bases on 44 thousand patients, people infected with the virus:
81% survived lightly
14% spend seriously
5% get seriously ill
The percentage of those who died from Covid-19 is between 1% and 2%. It is understood that the disease is not common in children under 9 years of age, and the mortality rate is very high in those who have respiratory diseases above 80 years of age.
